Prometheus Antiques has dated this Framed Landscape Oil Painting to the 1930s.
Jessamine Cottages were in the centre of Nottingham near the castle on Gillyflower hill but have sadly been demolished. Ernest Cox is not a well-known artist and seems to have only exhibited in Nottingham at the Castle Art Gallery which he did 56 times, an impressive number. The work is in excellent condition and framed in a good quality and substantial frame, almost certainly the original but reused from an earlier work. The whole has a great decorative look and is ready to hang. C.1930
