This handsome gentleman sat for his portrait at the beginning of the 19th Century - he must have created quite a stir in Regency society. This portrait, which is in oil on canvas, is in remarkably good condition, with no signs of later restoration. Overall the frame, considering it has probably housed this charismatic portrait for over 200 years, has also survived well, with only a few minor losses. As you can see from the images, this painting is in a good enough condition to be hung and enjoyed. The price being asked is for the framed portrait in its current, recently discovered, unrestored condition.
