Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Royal Pavilion in Brighton was transformed into a seaside palace for George, Prince Regent, in the early 19th century under architect John Nash. Architectural depictions of the site became highly popular during the Regency and Victorian eras, reflecting the nations interest in exotic Indo-Saracenic design and royal residences.

19th-century works were typically executed using oil paints ground from mineral and organic pigments mixed with linseed oil, applied onto stretched linen canvas or wooden panels. Frames were frequently made from carved wood with water-gilded or oil-gilded finish.

Authentic period works show age-appropriate craquelure across the paint surface, natural oxidisation on the reverse of the canvas, and hand-cut wooden stretcher frames. Architectural details usually match historical building phases and contemporary topographical prints.

Architectural paintings add structure and history to contemporary or traditional rooms. Placing a framed oil painting above a mantelpiece, sideboard, or within a gallery wall creates a clear focal point while complementing neutral colour palettes.

Keep oil paintings away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and heat sources to prevent cracking or warping. Clean gently using a soft, dry brush, and avoid water or liquid chemicals, consulting a professional restorer for deep cleaning or frame repairs.
