Subject Equine horse study portrait of a brown thoroughbred bay hunter race horse who is 6 years old & is facing left in full side profile, above riding is the Jockey holding the reigns & holding his whip. He wears a smart darknbrown racing jacket with white trousers and black leather riding boots along with his jocket cap hat. Bessy is trotting towards a tall pole, in the distant background are views of the english countryside sloping hills, along with race horses and jockeys at the back on top of the hill behind. The race horse owner is Richard Green, the horse won various races, won at Houghton, Hunters Stakes, Tally Ho Stakes, cup at Bishops Castle.

Set in such a traditional decorative gilt frame which enhances this painting further.
Circa early 19th century William IV erea dated 1831 on the inscription paper label verso.

Condition report offered in fine used condition. Having various foxing stains also craquelure to the painting surface with some minor paint loss to the central part of the horse and extreme outer edges also with paint touch ups to the outer background border edges to the far right & far left sides. The frame having general wear, scuffs, stains and some losses commensurate with usage & old age.

Customs Payment & Brexit
Cheshire Antiques Consultant LTD operates on a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis which means that the International buyer is responsible for any import duties, taxes & customs clearance charges and any other customs charges which may be necessary to release an order from international customs.
Following the UK leaving the EU on 1st January 2021 (BREXIT) there have been some changes to customs & duty charges for EU customers. Tax and import duty varies from country to country so we recommend you check with your local tax office to see if any fees will be payable.
If the customer refuses to pay any duty and customs charges and the parcel is returned to sender all shipping charges will be deducted from any refund.
