Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
This handsome flamed mahogany desk has matching veneers. The Desk Comes in 3 Sections for ease of Transport and Installation.
The desk has a dark green tooled leather top with old gilded edging. Three drawers on the top section, with three more drawers on each pedestals. 9 drawers to the front with 3 drawers on the reverse and 2 cupboards. All the drawers with oak liners. The desk has original metal casters to it's base.

The desk in excellent original condition, commensurate with age and use. For condition please look closely at the pictures. The back drawers have been opened in the past, by cutting the locks. The desk is fitted with the original decorative brass handles.
Only 2 drawers at the front have locks which don't work.

The ex. "Bank of England" partners desk is a rare chance to own a part of British history.
Provenance: Christies auction, South Kensington ..... Property of the Bank of England. The desk was sold by Christies on behalf of the Bank of England, alongside several other partners desks, shortly after Gordon Brown took over it's running, during a modernising programme, implemented by him in the 1990s.

Original envelope found by me in the back of the central draw, with the Banks address on it (see picture).
