Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Caucasian rugs originate from the Caucasus region bridging Europe and Asia, traditionally woven by various indigenous tribes featuring distinct geometric motifs, symbolic patterns, and saturated vegetable-dyed wools.

These authentic pieces are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool for the pile, warp, and weft, utilising traditional symmetrical or asymmetrical knots dyed with natural mineral and plant colourants.

Authentication involves examining the natural variations in the wool, the presence of vegetable dyes with subtle abrash, irregular knot density on the reverse, and traditional tribal iconography characteristic of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century weaving.

This textile can be integrated as a focal point on polished wooden flooring or layered over a larger neutral natural fibre carpet to add texture, historic depth, and graphic colour to contemporary or eclectic spaces.

Preservation requires gentle vacuuming without a beater bar, professional specialist washing when necessary, keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent dye fading, and using a breathable rug pad underneath.
