Antique Khorasan Baluch Rug, Outstanding Design, Circa 1900.

Description

Size: 4ft 8in x 2ft 8in (141 x 80cm).

Antique Khorasan region Baluch rug with a repeat gul design.

Circa 1900.

This tribal Baluch rug is of a very charming form, there is a lattice formed by large diagonal guls in alternating colours. The white gul in the centre really stands out, note the small stars in the centre of each gul. The border is of the well known meandering vine design.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile, the rug retains kilims at both ends showing some wear, the goats hair side bindings also show wear in places. (This is reflected in the price).

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
