Description

Bonomi Edward Warren fl 1860-1877.Painted landscape and country subjects.Exhibited twenty watercolours at the Royal Society of British Artists,Suffolk Street including views in Surrey and works entitled ‘ Where the Blackbird Builds and Sings’, ‘ A Shady Beechwood ‘ and ‘A Woodland Way’.Also exhibited two woodland subjects at the RA.London address.House in its original decorative giltwood and plaster which has been regilded. ‘ A Sportsman and his Dog on a Wooded Path’ signed watercolour heightened by gum Arabic,dated 1868 ; image size 68x52 cms,framed size 93.5x75 cms.This exhibition quality watercolour is possibly the finest quality example I have seen executed by the artist.The depiction of the dappled light and shade is quite outstanding!
