Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

During the Victorian era, advancements in industrial manufacturing allowed for the mass production of metal bedframes, which were prized for their hygiene and durability compared to wooden alternatives.

These beds typically combine robust cast iron frames with structural wrought iron components, complemented by polished brass fittings, knobs, and decorative mounts.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-poured iron joints, threaded components rather than modern welds, authentic patina on the brass elements, and non-standard sizing that reflects historical dimensions.

An antique metal bed serves as a strong focal point and can be balanced in a modern room by pairing it with minimalist neutral linens, textured throws, and contemporary lighting.

Maintain the frame by dusting regularly with a dry cloth, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners on the brass, and periodically checking and tightening structural bolts to ensure stability.
