Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Woven in the mountainous Caucasus region during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Kazak and Karabagh carpets were produced by village weavers. These textiles are noted for their bold geometric iconography, diamond medallions, and saturated natural dye palettes.

These carpets were hand-knotted using locally sourced hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the foundation. Dyes were derived from natural plant and mineral sources, creating rich madder reds, indigo blues, and forest greens.

Authentic pieces feature asymmetrical hand-knotted backs, minor colour shifts known as abrash, and distinct tribal motifs such as geometric stars or latch-hooks. The pile texture is thick and woollen, with irregular edge selvedges typical of village looms.

A large kelleh carpet functions as a visual anchor in living rooms, hallways, or dining spaces. The vibrant red and navy palette complements dark hardwood flooring, leather seating, and minimalist contemporary furniture.

Vacuum regularly using a suction-only setting without a rotating beater bar to prevent pile damage. Place a quality underlay beneath the carpet to absorb footfall impact, and rotate the rug annually to balance sunlight exposure and wear.
