One very rarely discovers a pair of tribal saddlebags that have not been separated. Most of them have been cut in half because it is easier to sell one than two. However this complete set is still together and with exceptional vegetable dyed wool. An exciting item for the collector of these pieces or anyone who wants to bring a touch of the tribal to their home, these rare tribal bags will attract attention from all who admire, and be a great talking point. and still with the original leather protection hand sewn on, to protect the edges and reinforce.
Completely handwoven in the late 19th century, they were a utilitarian object made by the girls of the tribes and used to transport whatever would fit in them, over the back of a donkey. Made by the YURUK TRIBES, a nomadic group based in eastern anatolia (turkey)
