An antique Afghan Tekke Aqcha handwoven rug, approximately 3''11'' x 2''11'', dated ''1914''. This rug has a faded red coloured field with column of two ''Fil Pai'' (elephants foot) octagonal tekke guls, and Arabic inscribed date ''????'' (1332 or 1914 in the Georgian calendar), enclosed by multiple repeating faded black borders. A supple, soft and silky, hand knotted rug, with short fringes to both ends. Wool pile and foundations.A quality old rug. Well used but full of charm and character.
