Afghan Tekke Aqcha Small Rug C1914 3'11'X2'11" (119x89cm Turkmen Erasi)

Description

An antique Afghan Tekke Aqcha handwoven rug, approximately 3'11" x 2'11", dated "1914". This rug has a faded red coloured field with column of two 'Fil Pai' (elephants foot) octagonal tekke guls, and Arabic inscribed date "????" (1332 or 1914 in the Georgian calendar), enclosed by multiple repeating faded black borders. A supple, soft and silky, hand knotted rug, with short fringes to both ends. Wool pile and foundations.

A quality old rug. Well used but full of charm and character. Ready to use.

Dimensions:

This rug measures approximately 118.5 cm long including fringes, and 89 cm wide.

Condition:

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This rug is in a reasonable condition, commensurate with its age. There is some wear to the pile. Faded throughout, though quite even. Some losses to the fringes. The rug has been vacuumed, deodorised, and treated for moth prevention. Ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
