Here we have an outstanding figured Mahogany chest of drawers of the finest quality Victorian c1850. As you can see the chest has great colour and Patina. This rare chest has the best figured front we have ever seen almost resembling Walnut. The top is Plum Pudding Mahogany showing almost three dimensional grain and a rich colour. There is a moulded round cornered edge to the top and rounded mouldings to the drawers which extend beyond the width of the drawer. The chest has rounded corners and solid Mahogany sides. The drawers have the most elaborate figured fronts, original turned bun handles and solid Ash linings. The base drawer is integral so very deep and forms part of the plinth base and as with all the other drawers retains its original blue paper lining. The whole sits on original squashed bun feet. This chest represents the very best of cabinet making from the Victorian period and is in excellent retail condition ready for your home.
