Leeds Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Bordered with satinwood and ebony band, and complete with reeded edge. Over twin pedestals with bank of four drawers, all graduated in height, with matching inlaid banding, brass pull handles, original locks with working key and brass escutcheons. Central kneehole with further drawer, complete with inlaid spandrels. The pedestals raised on aproned bases with reeded edge tops. Sat on original castors. Solid oak drawer linings.

Considerably heavy for its size and very well made. This desk is very well presented.
An attractive, high quality desk, of lovely small proportions. In very good working condition, serviced, cleaned and waxed, now very much ready for use.

This desk measures approximately 72.25 cm (28.5") tall, 99 cm (39") wide, and 59 cm (23.25") deep. The kneehole measures 42 cm (16.5") wide and 55.75 cm (22") tall.
Condition:
Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This desk is in a good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Some marks and blemishes, see pictures. No obvious signs of damage or repair. The original leather is in very good condition, with only a little but charming wear, with gilt and tooled border mostly intact. The left side and one of the drawers have a few losses to the inlaid banding. Replacement handles. All original locks, all but two are working, complete with key and tassel. Original escutcheons. All drawers run well. Fully serviced, cleaned, waxed, and ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
