Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

The bow front style features a convex, curved front facade that became popular during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, designed to soften room angles and maximise storage capacity.

Cabinet makers predominantly used dense hardwoods such as mahogany or oak, often incorporating secondary timbers like pine for drawer linings and carcase backs, complemented by brass hardware.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints, handmade timber linings with consistent oxidation, hand-forged or cast brass fittings, and signs of genuine age-related wear.

Pair the traditional wood tones with minimalist modern wall art and a simple ceramic vessel to create a balanced contrast between historical craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels, keep the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight, and periodically nourish the timber using traditional beeswax polish rather than silicone sprays.
