Rich in colour and with woven with fantastic natural green dyes, soft blues, and warm red tones, this tribal carpet would look very much at home on a wooden or sisal floor. In brilliant original condition, the ends and sides have been secured by our workshop and professionally cleaned ready to be used again for another 100 years. This carpet dates from circa 1900-1910 and is full of charm and interest to add to your home.
Karaja carpets and rugs were woven in the North-West of Persia, not far from the weavers of the Caucasus, which is why we see amazing animal motifs and geometric designs from antique Caucasian rugs. Look for the lovely small Reindeer motifs shown in this rug, which are a particular highlight.
