Arthur Claude Strachan 1865-1939.Born in Edinburgh he was a fine landscape artist best known for his beautiful and sentimental pictures of flower wreathed cottages and village scenes.Strachan studied at Liverpool College of Art and later travelled throughout Great Britain in order to paint country life which he loved to portray.He lived in many places including the Cotswolds,Warwick,Evesham,New Brighton,Glasgow ,Edinburgh,London ,North Wales and Minehead.He exhibited at the Birmingham Art Gallery,Royal Institute of Watercolour Artists,Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery ,Liverpool. ‘Two Children with their Pet dog in a Beautiful Cottage Garden’ signed watercolour,image size 27x45.5 cms,framed size 49x57.5 cms; original gilt frame and mount.I can reframe the picture at an additional cost if required.
