The overhanging top has a moulded edge and employs wide cross banding. There are several bands of inlay and then the centre of the top features an inlaid Dimond pattern motif, created by laying quartered veneers.

The sides of the piece have raised panelled mouldings which mirror the style of the drawer fronts but are much larger. The five drawers, one large and four small, feature inlaid banding and stringing. The reverse of the piece is finished with mock drawer fronts, meaning that it can be placed free standing in a room. It stands on tapering square section legs and stylised squared toupie feet.
