A rare George III partners desk of a good nut-brown colour and patina, drawers on the front and back (no cupboards), the cock-beaded drawer fronts attractively veneered in one continous sheet of figured mahogany, cedar-lined drawers and many of the original 2 pin locks still present. Good original large castors - the desk can rolled easily across a room. A rare feature is the secret spring-loaded drawer in the kneehole. The desk is in 1 large section and doesn''t dismantle. The swan neck handles are through the orginal holes and the later knobs hole was plugged and veneered over so they it shows.
The photographs of the back have the key in the centre drawer, the fronts with the key in the right-hand drawer.
circa 1760
