A Hosseinabad khelleh or long rug, from the Persian Hamadan region, approximately 10''4'' x 5''3'', dating from the early mid C20th. This rug has a faded raspberry herati field with central ivory coloured medallion, spandrels, enclosed by indigo borders of samovar motifs. A hand knotted rug with reasonably deep pile, and short selvage to one end and selvage with sown under fringe to other end.
