Lee Wright Antiques & Interiors Ltd has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The top has a deep projecting moulding around all four sides. Each pedestal contains four graduated drawers with brassware and there is also a concealed drawer in the frieze above the kneehole. The drawer fronts make great use of the medullary rays in the oak for decorative effect. The sides of the desk are both panelled. The desk stands on a plinth base and has a concealed cupboard with an adjustable shelf inside the kneehole.
A very nice example.
