Description

A Victorian mahogany nine drawer pedestal desk. Well made with all its original brass locks (with key) and turned drawer pulls. Fine dovetails to the drawers which all run and close smoothly. An overall good colour with fine patina the drawers having a striking vertical grain. It is veneer finished to the rear. The the original writing surface is of black faux leather with and embossed surround. It has a few scuffs and blemishes but nothing significant,the photographs show the condition well. The top left hand drawer has a veneer crack which can only be seen if you look for it...please see the last two photographs. The height is a comfortable working height for an individual of normal size and the kneehole is nice and wide. The desk breaks down as a one piece top having three drawers, two 3 drawer pedestals each having separate plinth bases each with 4 iron castors. It can be moved easily.
