A rare early 18th century portrait of a Patten maker in an early interior. It is rare to find a depiction of a tradesperson at work from this period. The interior shows lots of interesting details, including early glass decanters within a built-in wall cupboard, a workbench with tools, a window with glazing bars and early clothing. Oil on canvas laid onto board. Presented in a beaded giltwood frame.
