Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian Romantic ruin paintings emerged in the 18th and early 19th centuries, influenced by the Romantic movement and the Grand Tour aesthetic. Artists depicted classical or gothic architectural ruins set within natural landscapes to evoke themes of history, decay, and the passage of time.

Artworks from this period were typically painted in oil or gouache on wooden panels, copper plates, or canvas. Frames often incorporated dark ebonised wood, gilded slip borders, glass glazing, and decorative brass hanging hardware or chains.

Authentic Georgian pieces display natural age signs such as fine surface craquelure, period-correct wooden backing boards, hand-forged or early cast brass fittings, and historical framing techniques featuring wide mounts or gessoed gilt liners.

Pairs of small landscape paintings work well placed vertically on narrow wall spaces, hung symmetrically above a console table, or integrated into a gallery wall within traditional, dark academia, or eclectic schemes.

Keep antique paintings out of direct sunlight and away from sources of heat or high humidity. Clean the frames and glass gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or feather duster, avoiding moisture and harsh chemical solvents on painted surfaces or gilt finishes.
