A mahogany arts and crafts writing desk, attributed to Liberty and Co. and dating from c.1900. The top folds out to a leather writing surface which is supported by the full width drawer below. A small cupboard with a leaded and stained glass door is set at an angle on the upper right hand side, with a wavy gallery surrounding the rest of the desk.This wonderfully quirky little desk would be a pleasure to use, with the drawer large enough to hold a laptop computer. It has so many lovely details, from the wavy gallery to the scalloped stretchers. The stained glass door has two blue roundels in the centre with blue, yellow, pink and green glass surrounding them. There is a label on the inside of the door reading ‘Rd. at the patent office Designs Branch No. 318,344’. We believe that this item was retailed by Liberty and Co.The height to the desk top/writign surface is 76cm.Condition: The desk is in good solid condition throughout.
