A Victorian period, mahogany pedestal desk, manufactured by Maple & Co, Circa 1876. This attractive desk with single piece mahogany oblong shaped top, with thumb moulded edge. The frieze contains three drawers, Both pedestals are a bank of three drawers on a plinth type base, all with castors. All drawers with original pairs of turned knob handles, brass escutcheon and lock, with working key. Original Maple & Co badge. Inside the central drawer, on the base is an inscription dated July 1876, which appears show this desk being gifted.

...d sturdy. Only one small repair, to the top right of the central drawer, otherwise everything is original. Including polish, handles, locks, escuteons... Only odd minor marks and blemishes. Over pleasing patina, with charming fading amber colour to the top. Cleaned and waxed. Very serviceable, all in good working order, and ready to use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
