Dark Timber Storage Drawers
Dark timber storage drawers encompass robust chests, banks of drawers, and apothecary cabinets spanning Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian periods.
Buyers meet pieces fashioned from mahogany, walnut, oak, and rosewood, alongside painted pine and ironmongers' examples.
Forms range from tall watchmakers' banks to compact Regency D-front chests and Chinese lacquer cabinets.
How they were made
Cabinet makers built these pieces using dense hardwoods like mahogany, oak, and rosewood, often pairing them with brass handles and key escutcheons.
Construction relies on traditional joinery methods suited to heavy daily use, incorporating pine or secondary timbers for internal linings and drawer bases.

What varies in quality
