Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often combined lighter, more graceful proportions with revivals of eighteenth-century neoclassical and Georgian designs, frequently utilising rich timbers such as mahogany.

Cabinetmakers of this era predominantly employed solid timbers and veneers like mahogany, walnut, and satinwood, frequently accentuating surfaces with decorative flame veneer figures and brass or turned wooden hardware.

Authentication involves examining construction details such as hand-cut dovetail joints on drawer construction, secondary softwoods used for drawer linings, original brass or wooden locks, and natural signs of age and oxidisation on the timber surfaces.

This piece can serve as a grounded focal point in a contemporary bedroom or living space, paired with neutral walls and minimalist accessories to highlight the rich grain patterns and historical craftsmanship without visual clutter.

Preservation requires keeping the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer cracking, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, and periodically applying traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone polishes.
