The Silver Cabinet has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The jardinière is embossed with a band of repeated flowers and is raised on three strut brass feet. It is clearly marked on the bottom with the Company mark, which contains the famous 'orb' - adopted because the firm made the present cross on the dome of St Paul's Cathedral in 1821 and it could be seen from the shop in London.
As can be seen from the photographs, this jardinière has had a life and is not in perfect condition. It is, nonetheless, an attractive and stylish piece.
