Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The George III and Hepplewhite styles, prominent in the late 18th century, are characterised by graceful serpentine or bow fronts, delicate string inlay, and refined neoclassical proportions.

These pieces were typically constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary softwoods like pine or oak, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawer construction.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage consistent with age, original or period-matching brass hardware, and hand-finished secondary woods on the interior.

An antique mahogany chest grounds a contemporary space when paired with minimalist artwork or a modern mirror above, creating a balanced contrast between old and new.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent wood splitting, and nourish the finish periodically with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone sprays.
