FAQs

French Impressionism focused on capturing light, atmospheric effects, and everyday urban life, frequently depicting the bustling boulevards and weather conditions of Paris.

Artists traditionally used oil paints applied with brushes or palette knives onto stretched canvas, often housed in heavy, carved and gilded wooden frames.

Authenticity is determined by examining canvas ageing, signature verification, brushwork consistency, stretcher bar construction, and professional provenance documentation.

It can serve as a focal point on a neutral wall, paired with directional picture lighting to highlight the texture of the oil paint and the details of the gilded frame.

Keep paintings away from direct sunlight, maintain stable room temperatures and humidity levels, and avoid touching the canvas surface or using chemical cleaners on the paint.
