Description

One of the rarest of all Omega Automatics ever made the Omega Bumper Automatic 354 in solid 18ct rose gold Spider Leg case

The diameter is just over 34.5mm excluding the crown.

The movement is Omegas highly reliable calibre 354 fully automatic Bumper movement. An Omega "bumper" is a vintage Omega that has a "bumper" automatic movement rather than a full rotation rotor automatic. The oscillating weight makes a partial rotation before "bumping" into a cushioning spring. This is the earliest type of automatic movement.

The beautiful two tone dial is perfect having just been professionally restored. It has the French Eagles Head 18ct gold hallmarks to the inside of the case back and on one of the beautiful spider leg lugs

The case is in fabulous condition all we have done is a light hand polish with some jewellers rouge to bring out the colour of the solid 18ct rose gold.

If you are wondering why it does not have an Omega symbol on the winding crown its because the Omega logo crown was not introduced until later. This is the correct original crown.

The watch has just been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be genuine Omega in all respects. It is keeping time to within Omegas original specification and comes with a one year warranty.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A bumper automatic movement features a weighted rotor that swings back and forth within a limited arc rather than making a full rotation, providing a distinct physical pulse to the wrist when worn.

High-end timepieces from this era typically utilised solid precious metals such as 18-carat rose, yellow, or white gold for the cases, paired with acrylic crystals and genuine leather straps.

Authenticity is verified by examining the interior movement serial numbers, case back hallmarks, dial typography, and matching the movement calibre to the specific production year.

A vintage timepiece adds understated sophistication to both formal tailoring and smart-casual attire, serving as a subtle focal point without overpowering modern minimalist aesthetics.

Mechanical watches require regular professional servicing every three to five years, protection from extreme magnetic fields, and strict avoidance of moisture unless the case has been officially certified as waterproof.
