Pink lustreware is a type of English pottery featuring a metallic pink glaze, produced primarily during the late 18th and 19th centuries, often incorporating transfer-printed commemorative scenes.

These items were typically made from earthenware or bone china, decorated using copper-based metallic glazes to achieve the characteristic sheen alongside black or monochrome transfer-printed designs.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit crazing in the glaze, hand-applied lustre highlights varying in tone, and period-specific transfer prints reflecting historical events or flora.

Displaying the piece as a standalone focal point on a mantelpiece or within a glass-fronted cabinet allows its historical narrative and metallic sheen to complement both traditional and modern decor.

To preserve the delicate metallic glaze and prevent further crazing, items should be kept out of direct sunlight, dusted gently with a soft dry cloth, and never immersed in water or cleaned in a dishwasher.
