FAQs

Nineteenth-century bronze sculptures often featured expressive realism, intricate lost-wax casting techniques, and detailed anatomical studies inspired by classical and romantic movements.

These pieces were typically crafted using the lost-wax (cire perdue) casting method for the bronze component, frequently mounted on bases made of natural marble or slate.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural patination, fine chisel work on the metal surface, weight consistent with solid bronze, and construction methods characteristic of the period.

Placing the sculpture on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or desk allows it to serve as a focal point, contrasting effectively with modern minimalist furnishings.

Bronze should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth and occasionally treated with microcrystalline wax to protect the patina from moisture and handling.
