Description

Antique silver Omega pocket watch, 1912.

The watch has a signed stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 4,169,377 which dates it back to 1912. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London (import mark) 1912 with an importer’s mark of SA for Selling Agency, and the early Omega logo. The bezel has a few small marks and there is some unevenness to the hinged case back.

The glass lens has small marks but is very acceptable.

The dial is in good condition.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (because of GPSR legislation, we no longer post items less than 100 years old to Europe, including Northern Ireland).

Please contact us regarding international shipping.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

Credit / debit card purchases up to £300 can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the 'Purchase Antique' button on each listing page. Alternatively, there is a Paypal payment link if you scroll down the page and we also accept bank transfers.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.

Pocket watches from this era typically feature mechanical movements, enamel dials, and precious metal cases, representing a transitional period before wristwatches became dominant.

Cases were commonly fashioned from sterling silver, gold, or base metal alloys, while dials were usually made of white enamel with steel or blued-steel hands.

Authenticity is verified through hallmarks stamped on the inside of the case, serial numbers matching maker records, and the presence of a mechanical lever or key-wound movement.

It can be displayed within a glass cloche on a mantelpiece, housed in a shadow box frame, or placed inside a gentlemans valet tray on a study desk.

Keep the piece away from moisture and direct sunlight, handle the movement with clean gloves, and have the mechanical parts serviced periodically by a professional horologist.
