What's the difference between a sideboard and a credenza?

In these listings the words overlap heavily. Sideboard covers the bulk of titles, credenza comes next, and chiffonier and side cabinet take the rest. One title uses all four. As a rough guide, credenza tends to be applied to the lower, often serpentine walnut cabinets, and sideboard to the taller carved oak and mahogany pieces with a full mirrored back.

Which wood is most common?
