Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of traditional design and excellent colour.
Circa 1900.
The rug has a traditional Tekke gul design with 3 rows of 10 guls with well drawn secondary guls. The border is of the 'sunburst' design, with stars inside octagons. The rug has the original large elem panels at both ends. A feature of the rug is the extensive use of cochineal dye as a highlight.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium / low pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
