This is a type of Persian rug which is becoming increasingly hard to find. Little Karaja rugs with 3 geometric medallions and pretty colours are ideal decoration for small spaces. This charming piece fits the bill. The abrashed terracotta background in the field is decorated with 3 medallions surrounded by stylised floral ornaments. The border is equally striking, composed of rows of stars on a sapphire blue background. The composition is very attractive and happy. It is in very good original condition, retaining its original selvages and ends. Good even pile.
