Description

A fabulous antique Amritsar carpet which is in magnificent near perfect condition. Minimal tidying up work is still required on the sides if necessary. Our restoration team has not completed this work yet, and it can be done easily to improve the appearance of the edges. This carpet has just arrived with us from a private collection, and has a deep indigo main field colour, soft pink border woven with an intricate fine floral design. Woven around 1900-1910, the dyes are all vegetable, we love the pale blues and gold tones on this elegant antique carpet. The dyes have mellowed beautifully, and are now such a wonderful collection of muted tones.
