A stunning and richly coloured Antique Sauj Bulagh kelleh in exceptional original condition, over 140 years old and dating from circa 1880.  Woven from the Kurdish region in the far North-West of Persia, they are known for combining elements of classical Persian drawings with a bold and vividly colourful village aesthetic. This early Sauj Bulagh carpet uses the classic Persian all-over ''Herati pattern'' used in the 18th century, which depicts two fish swimming around a water-lily, which can be seen in the main field.
