Size: 6ft 2in x 4ft 2in (187 x 128cm).

Antique Caucasian Seichur rug with classic 'Saint Andrews cross' design.

Circa 1880.

This outstanding rug has the Saint Andrews cross design on an ivory ground, the design is well drawn in soft colours, the ivory field contains many small tribal designs. The multiple borders anre all designs associated with the village of Seichur and frame the rug very well.

The rug is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and almost full pile. The rug is of fine weave.

The rug is suitable for light domestic use.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.

This is an outstanding example of this sought after design, a good display rug that would make a superb wall hanging.
