Description

This is a fine Antique Saroukh carpet of good room size in beautiful condition dating from around 1920.

The carpet has typical Saroukh design with an allover trailing looms design surrounding a central floral spray medallion. The ground shade too is typical Saroukh, being a beautifully warm coral. The deep triple borders feature a serrated leaf design with shades of deep and indigo, ivory and a lighter blue.

Saroukhs are woven from very fine, soft wool and feel very soft to the touch. They are quite hardwearing carpets and this one is in really good condition throughout with complete ends and selvedges and just a little wear to one small area as photographed (last image).

The carpet measures 288 cms by 203 cms.
