A really stunning antique Heriz carpet woven around 1890-1900 with a rare and hard to find all over gold and blue leaf design. The vibrancy to the colours is wonderful, we have professionally washed this carpet and the colours have really cleaned up spectacularly.  Most antique Heriz carpets were woven with a central medallion motif and elaborate corner spandrels. This carpet is more refined and woven with the repeating all over leaves.  The background reds subtly change as the weavers went along, this is known as ''abrash'' which is the term for dye change, adding beautiful character.Increasingly rare to find in this near perfect condition.  It has lovely rich reds, soft blues, golden yellows and pinks on a warm red background have been used to create an elegant antique carpet.
