Size: 5ft 5in x 3ft 4in (165 x 102cm).

Antique Caucasian Dagestan rug with 'blossom' design on a dark charcoal ground.

Circa 1880.

A very good example of type with very nicely drawn all over multi coloured blossom design, on a dark charcoal ground.

The rug has a classic border design which frames the rug well, note the inner and outer guards with the 'S' design .

The rug has slight even wear and good pile, the charcoal ground is partially corroded giving the rug a slightly sculpted look. The rug has excellent wool and is very soft to the touch with a floppy handle.

Hand washed and ready for use or display, the rug is suitable for light domestic use.

A very good and scarce example of type.
