This is an exquisite fine Serapi rug of the highest order, very rare to find one in perfect pile, with no repairs and this rare design.   The rare amount of natural ivory wool in the main diamond medallion is something you never see, usually this is used in the four corner spandrels, instead the rich reds have been used instead.  So it really is a colour reversal used by the weaver!
