Description

Size: 2ft 11in x 1ft 10in (90 x 55cm).

Antique Sistan Baluch pushti bag face in diamond lattice design.

Circa 1920.

Pushti were used as pillows or back rests, they were filled with wool or straw through a small opening to one side. This face from a pushti originates from the Sistan region of Afghanistan. The design is a lattice of diamonds each containing a simple cross design, the use of green through out is most pleasing. Short striped kilims are retained at each end.

The bag face is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile, there is slight wear to the side cords in places and the kilim ends are a little ragged.

The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
