A stunning early Sultanabad carpet from around 1870 with amazing green dyes used in the border.  A pre Ziegler production carpet with large floral motifs and scrolling vines. Beautiful early blue dyes and golden yellow tones, all on a terracotta brick red tone background.Woven around 150 years ago we can see some wear and lower areas of pile scattered over this piece.  Structurally strong with no holes or splits, this carpet would have been thin and with a low pile when constructed in Sultanabad, Persia in the mid to late 19th century.  With our sturdy underlay underneath this carpet it will provide durability and strength, so it can still be used for another 100 years.We would happily welcome you contacting us to request a home visit, having visited customers in their own homes for over 30 years.
