Fine quality, mid 19th Century Grand Tour patinated bronze model of the ''Hound of Alcibiades'' otherwise known as the ‘Molossian Hound’ or the ‘Jennings Dog’, on red marble. Based on a Roman copy in marble of a Hellenistic bronze statue of a large dog it was purchased by Henry Constantine Jennings in Rome in 1750s and now resides in the British Museum.
