Antique Bakshaish Rug

Description

Beautiful large floral design on this late 19th century Bakshaish rug, woven with natural dyes and some nice abrash, which is the term for dye change we can see this in the reds.  Gorgeous pale blues and light green to gold tones.  Bakshaish always used delightful dyes and bold large designs, making stunning rugs, carpets and runners.

Condition is good, with a nice wool pile and both ends and sides secured.  Ready to be used with our sturdy anti-slip underlay included.
