Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian equestrian sporting prints are nineteenth-century pictorial works that document country pursuits such as fox hunting, horse racing, and coursing. Artists such as J. F. Herring created detailed compositions that were reproduced via copper or steel plate engraving techniques for contemporary collectors.

These prints were created using engraved metal plates transferred onto rag paper using ink. Many examples were subsequently coloured by hand using watercolours to accentuate details in the landscape, foliage, and equestrian attire.

Authentic period engravings typically display distinct plate impression marks around the image border, age-appropriate paper tone or foxing, and fine hand-drawn details in the colouring. Original publisher line details and artist attribution text are generally present along the lower margin.

A set of four uniform prints is effectively displayed arranged in a balanced two-by-two grid formation to create a focal point on a neutral wall. This arrangement complements traditional wood furniture, panelling, or transitional interior schemes.

Framed paper works should be mounted using acid-free archival mats and hung away from direct sunlight or damp environments. Conservation glass with UV filtering helps prevent pigment fading and paper degradation over time.
